Bay State Community Services Create, Respect, Empower, Wellness is a community based, therapeutic afterschool and summer day program that provides children and youth with behavioral health needs with a supportive, therapeutic, and strength-based experience.

What to Expect

CREW offers two separate day services dependent on age.

  • Assessment – Our clinical staff complete a comprehensive, strength-based assessment that guides us in understanding the youth and family’s needs. Parent(s)/ Caregiver(s) are involved in all aspects of the information gathering.
  • Individualized Plan – Our team, in collaboration with the parent(s)/caregiver(s), Department of Mental Health, School Systems and all other supports requested by the youth and family develop an individualized plan that focuses on the youth and family goals.
  • Skill Development – As part of the plan, each youth has specific skills to be developed. The team provides education, coaching, and feedback on using each skill.
  • Peer Support, Mentoring and Coaching – The team offers developmentally appropriate community experiences to support youth in practice skills, coping, and communication in real time. These activity-based experiences build confidence and encourage positive social interactions.
  • Group Therapy – The team provides daily skills-based groups that utilize Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy that focus on the youth developing responsive coping skills, effective communication, positive peer interactions, and symptom management.
  • Family Therapy – The clinician will provide family supports including education, communication, and support.
