What We Offer

Bay State Community Services Recovery Coach Program offers peer recovery coaching to individuals over the age of 18 who are concerned about their substance use.  Recovery Coaches are individual with lived experience who personally understand the substance use disorders and work with you to find the best path for you in supporting your recovery.

Our Recovery Coaches have participated in extensive training including the Recovery Coach Academy and have obtained or are in the process of becoming certified. Several of our Recovery Coaches have participated in intensive training in Gambling and other problematic behaviors.

Recovery Coaches provide support for alcohol, opioids, stimulants, cannabis, and any combination of substances.

What to Expect

You can call, email, or walk in during walk in times and speak with a Recovery Coach.  The Recovery Coach will take the time to listen and understand your needs.

This is not a clinical services this peer support is designed to support you and how you want to pursue your recovery.  Together, with the Recovery Coach, you will develop a Wellness Plan to help focus on next steps.

Recovery Coaches

  • Guide and connect you to the local recovery community.
  • Provide emotional and social support.
  • Assist you in setting goals and helping develop practical action/wellness plans.
  • Support you in developing and maintaining effective coping skills and a healthy lifestyle.
  • Facilitate access to services and resources.
  • Serve as a support to other service providers.
  • Provide appropriate, recovery-oriented education.
  • Listen actively, validate a person’s experience, and offer honest feedback.
  • Identify assist you in overcoming barriers in your recovery.
  • Providing hope and resources to your family and friends.

Funding

Bay State Community Services accepts MassHealth and most major insurances. If you do not have insurance, we may have grant funding that can support your care. Please check with our intake department.
